We are fortunate to often have many air shows in Kansas City. We usually have at least one air show within drive-able distance each year from late spring, summer, to early fall. Usually the local air show is held at the New Century Air Center in Gardner, KS or at the downtown Kansas City airport in Kansas City, MO.
Sometimes it is hard to score KC air show tickets or you just don’t want to deal with the traffic at the hub of the airshow. Families with young children or families that have a member with mobility challenges might find the parking or transportation issues less than ideal. The good news is that there are many locations throughout Kansas City that you can check out the airshow from the comfort of your home neighborhood. I watched the airshow from a neighborhood in Olathe, KS near the airport.
The United States Navy Blue Angels headlined the air show over July 3 -4, 2021 at the New Century Air Center in Gardner, KS. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds joined them in a special appearance during the shows as well.
Here is some exciting video that I captured while watching the Blue Angels perform from an Olathe, KS neighborhood near the New Century AirCenter in Gardner, KS.
Look for an upcoming Kansas City air show in the Kansas City metro. They are worth your time!
The KC Air Show often brings an awesome mixture of rare historical planes that aren’t often available to the public and current military technology and training squads.
For 2022, the headlining act in the 2022 KC Air Show September 3-4, 2022 will be the United States Airforce Thunderbirds. It will again be held at the New Century AirCenter.
It is one of the many exciting things about living in Kansas City.
